For my painting I have chosen to take inspiration of Forest Fire. Made in Indonesia 1849. This painting was made by Raden Saleh. He was born in 1811-1880 which means he lived for 69 years. He was born in Semarang Indonesia and has made many paintings in his career.
I have linked my painting with Forrest Fire because of the fiery colour scheme. To make my painting I have used a variety of acrylics to make my painting. I used a sponge for the background and painted on the foreground. To add more depth, I decided to cut out the tree branches and paint them black. I chose my numbers because they represent eggs and to match in with the picture nicely. This painting is related to me because of the support I get like the bird supporting the numbers also. I found it hard to get different shades of green on the bird.
I really like my background and the fiery colour it portrays. But when I made a mistake and painted a different colour on the background, I struggled to find the right colour. I also liked my 3D branches but I should’ve painted them and then stuck them on, so I didn’t ruin my background. In the future I would want to get a thinner brush so that I get a thinner more defined line. If I would do this painting again I would learn to use a Stanley knife better to get smoother edges.
