Forest fire was painted by Raden Saleh and is displayed at the Singapore National Gallery. Raden Saleh Sjarif Boestaman was born in 1811 and died in 1880 and was the painter of Wounded Lion, The Wild Bull Hunting, Ships On A Stormy Sea, Deer Hunt, A Flood On Java, Forrest Fire of course and many more.

I chose Forest Fire As my inspiration towards my work. My work represents the aftermath of the painting resulting in a grey background with patches of Blue, Yellow, green and Black. I used a Sponge to dab the background so it looks like fog ascending into the gloomy sky. Jet Black tree branches crawl their way into the sky making what was once a forest the opening scene to a horror film. I did this  by just using a thin brush to make black curves that get smaller and smaller as they get longer and longer. At the top I even have an Illuminating moon which peeks over the top of the square composition.

The stencil is a number that you think represents the work in a memorable or in any way where it links. It could be linked to you or anything else that makes sense. For me, I used the number 10 as when the fires in Australia occurred, (which is where I'm from), the temperature of the fire was around 1010 degrees. I enjoyed making forest fire thoroughly, just because of how delicate it is and how even if it's dark and gloomy on the outside, really it shines out to other paintings.
