The painting I made was inspired by BoschBrand ( 1849 ) by Radeon Saleh. Saleh ( 1811 - 1880 ) was an Indonesian artist who was born into a royal Arab-Javanese family. Saleh is most remembered as one of the first Indonesian modern artists, he studied fine arts in the Netherlands before gaining his fame in France and Germany. Saleh painted Bosch Brand after 20 years of studying art in the Netherlands.

This piece caught attention, especially the colour contrasts. For instance, the right side of the painting is bluer and the colours are more cool toned, giving the impression of calmness and tranquillity, whereas the left side is red and appears to be slightly more chaotic. This artwork is distinctive, in my opinion, and it caught my attention the most out of all the paintings since it depicts two contrasting feelings. In my painting I chose to use the number 24.3 as that is how many millón acres of land lost in the 2019-2020 bushfires in Australia as it links to me and the paintings. I also chose to use the number 0 as it represents nothing and after the bushfires there was nothing, I also chose the make the zeros grey and together to represent smoke.

The motif I chose was a tiger strip because in the painting you can see tigers trapped in the fire. The background of my painting was a mix of reds, oranges and browns to represent the aftermath of a fire.
