‘Forest fire’ is a painting by Raden Saleh. He was regarded as one of the most important artists of the 19th century from java. The is also called the father of modern Indonesian painting.
I chose this artwork because when I looked at all the photo options this one stood out to me because love cats and animals in general and seeing animals loosing their homes due to fires was really sad. The numbers I chose to represent my paining are 9, 13, 5. I chose the number 9 because 9 tigers were founded on the 9th of august in sg. I chose the number 13 because it’s the average lifespan of a tiger and only 13,000 tigers are left in the would. I chose the number 5 because there are only 5,000 of the 13,000 tigers that are not kept in captivity and are in the wild. I also have 27 squares on my painting which is all of my numbers added together. I used small cut of foam pieces to create a print of fire on the bottom of the painting which symbolises the fire that the tigers got burnt in our which their home burdened in.
