I chose the painting Boschbrand ( Forest Fire ) by Raden Salah. Raden was an Indonesian painter who was the King’s painter. His painting contained many colors and animals. There is a sense of panic and confusion in the painting as all the animals are trying to escape the impending fire. The animals began to fight. As you can all see the tiger and the bull were fighting a lot. My numbers represent different things about the painting. The number 0 symbolises that there are no more white tigers left in the will. 62 symbolises the area code and finally 26 represent the number of animals in the painting Boschbrand ( from what I counted myself ). To me the number 0 is also a personal link to me as I am Indian and tigers are important to me and it is quite sad to see that a tiger species is extinct except for ones that are in captivity. My color choices came from the forest fire in the painting and also I chose the waves and earthquake because they are also both natural disasters. The challenges I faced were making the stencils and lining them up the right way. I like the general theme of orange color in the actual painting as that is my favourite color. The most successful thing I did in this painting is the waves as those were hard to stencil.
