William Spencer
My painting was inspired by the artwork War and Peace, by Hendra Gunawan in the 1950’s.
This painting stood out to me because of the strong background colours, contrast, and beautiful scenery. It really pulls me in, and I wonder what the man is thinking when he stares the countryside. I admire the brush work and the perfection of this painting.
For my own painting, I chose the colours red, white, and blue because I felt they are strong, stand out, and are the colours that represent the country I’m from – England!
I chose the number 2 because there are two people in Hendra Gunawan’s picture, and I chose the number 8 because there are 8 people in my family.
