The piece that deeply inspired me is "War and Peace," crafted by Hendra Gunawan in the 1950s. Its stunning landscape and vibrant hues starkly differ from those in my own painting. The color palette captivates with vivid greens and blues, drawing the eye effortlessly. While its beauty may initially overshadow the weapons within, a closer look reveals a deeper, more poignant narrative. I chose to use the numbers 3, 6 and 12. I chose to use the number 3 because of the distance from my birthplace (India) to Hendra Gunawan’s birthplace (Malaysia) which is around 3400 kilometers. I chose the number six because of the sum of the digits in 1950 (when it was made). I know it is 15, but I also took the sum of those digits. Lastly for the number 12, I chose it because Hendra gunawan was imprisoned for 12 years. For the colors I used in my painting, I choose red, blue, yellow, black and white. I used black to both outline the bullets and numbers for effect  also added 3 black line that seemed to be emitted from the 3 in the middle. The colours in my painting represent the following; white: happy, orange: angry, blue: sad, black: emptiness and yellow: hope. As black symbolised emptiness, It created a depth effect. The background was two colors: Blue and Orange. This is to relate to the painting and how Hendra Gunawan Used both warm and cool colors.
