"I used the colour schemes from the orchestra painting by Koeh Sia Wong. The painting engaged me because it reminded me a lot about myself. Koeh Sia Wong was a art student who graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He is an influential figure who shaped art in Singapore. He is a part of the equator art society who were formed in the 1950s. However, after the society disbanded, he went on to become a cartoon designer. He is known for his beautiful oil paintings and mostly depict scenes from southeast Asia. To this day his works are highly sought after by collectors, and he still shares his views, insight and passion for art with people all over Singapore.

I chose the number 58 because it was my number at FOBISIA (sports competition) and my house number for 10 years. This represents my passion for sports and my family as that is where I spent the most time with them. The red is family and the blue is sport. I picked these colours because the places where my family come from all have red flags. I picked blue because my first football team had a blue kit and so did my first rugby team. The sharp black lines represent my strong personality and solidarity I can have with the things I care about. It also represents my focus while playing my sports or doing other things I enjoy. With the blurry background it showcases the gentleness and kindness I also have. And finally, the circles demonstrate how the sections can mix for example leadership on the sports pitch.
